entry no. 4

what’s up what’s up what’s up??? so, we went and saw other mommy on saturday night and i am about to give you my honest review, but before i do i have to tell you that i went into this movie with kind of low expectations because of what i had heard about it. now, i actually really enjoyed the movie. i thought it was a little too campy for it to be too scary of a movie, but overall, i thought it was good. it did not follow the book too closely, which some people may love and others may hate (i happen to be more on the side of hate, but it wasn’t bad in this movie, i just like it when movies stick closely to the original source material). the main “scare points” in the movie, for lack of a better term, were not in the book at all. some of the characters were in the movie, but not accurate to their character in the book. i would watch it again, but it was by no means the best horror movie to come out this year. i don’t think the reviews it is getting are completely fair, seeing as how a certain website that reviews movies always scores the good movies low and the bad movies high. 

we also saw resident evil after we saw other mommy, and i thought it was okay. i have never played the game nor seen any of the other films, but i was told you could watch this movie without having prior knowledge of the resident evil world, so i went with it. meh. it wasn’t my type of horror movie (i’m not super big into monsters like the kind that were in this movie) and i felt like the jumpscares where very predictable. e said that they liked it and would watch it again, and they have seen some of the other movies, but have not played the games. we put our amc a-list to good use on saturday that’s for sure. 

that’s about it for now. i wanted to update this since we went and saw other mommy. the book is better in my opinion, so i would definitely start there first. alright y’all, have a good night.
